About Us

DEECA provides training and assessment services to Forest Fire Management Victoria staff this includes DEECA , Parks Victoria and Melbourne Water. In addition, DEECA delivers training to contract staff, other related incident personnel and occasionally, members of other fire agencies.  The Department does not provide training and assessment services to members of the public.  Whilst most of DEECA'S training services are designed to meet the Department's internal resource needs for fire and emergency management, some courses are nationally-accredited.  For the accredited component of its fire and emergency management training program, DEECA is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
